The US’ regional allies were in a de facto alliance with the extremist groups affiliated with the ISIL in a master plan with the principal objective of forcing ‘regime change’ in Syria. There is deep irony here that Qatar used its good offices just this week to engineer the release of an American freelance journalist who was being held by a jihadist group in Syria. Quite obviously the nexus between the Syrian jihadists groups and the Gulf Arab petrodollar states such as Qatar is very much continuing. And now, despite all that, to associate and co-opt these very same ‘ regional allies’ today in the upcoming Syria project as key partners raises suspicions about the real American intentions.

Acceptance of an innovation can occur through mutliple exposures to individuals who have already accepted it. Presented here is a model to trace the evolution of an innovation in a social network with a preference λ , amidst topological constraints specified mainly by connectivity, k and population size, N k . With the interplay between properties of innovation and network structure, the model attempts to explain the variations in patterns of innovations across social networks. Time in which the propagation attains highest velocity depends on λ −2 k −2 N 1/2 k . Dynamics in random networks may lead or lag behind that in scale-free networks depending on the average connectivity.

Many authors noted that the principle of relativity together with space-time homogeneity and isotropy restrict the form of the coordinate transformations from one inertial frame to another to being Lorentz-like. A free parameter in these equations, k , plays the part of c−2 in special relativity. It is usual to claim that k is determined by experiment and hence, that special relativity does not need the postulate of constancy of the speed of light. I analyze how one would go about determining k empirically and find that all methods suffer from severe problems without further assumptions, none as simple and elegant as the postulate of constancy of the speed of light. I conclude that while the formal structure of the transformation equations can be determined without appeal to the second postulate, the theory is left without physical content if we ignore this postulate.

The army of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) has blocked completely a large grouping of Kiev military forces in six republican settlements on Sunday. The headquarters of the 8th army corps, 28th and 30th motor rifle brigades, 95th Ukrainian air mobile brigade, punitive battalions Aidar, Donbass and Shakhtersk were entrapped, the DPR army headquarters said citing reconnaissance data. “Around five thousand servicemen with weapons and around 50 tanks, more than 200 combat armoured vehicles, about 50 multiple launch rocket systems Grad and Uragan, more than 100 artillery guns and mortars were blocked in the trap,” the army headquarters said.
