Paz, cielo y tierra

Por • 30 dic, 2015 • Category: Nacionales

S.S. Alejandro Moreno 29/12/2015.

Symmetries and the fundamental forces of Nature II

Por • 30 dic, 2015 • Category: Leyes

Lecture script of a one-semester course that aims to develop an understanding and appreciation of fundemental concepts in modern physics for students who are comfortable with calculus. This document contains the last part of the course where we introduce the concept of the quantum unit to describe the dynamic properties of subatomic particles and the interactions of matter and radiation.

Energy Flows in Low-Entropy Complex Systems

Por • 30 dic, 2015 • Category: Ciencia y tecnología

Nature’s many complex systems–physical, biological, and cultural–are islands of low-entropy order within increasingly disordered seas of surrounding, high-entropy chaos. Energy is a principal facilitator of the rising complexity of all such systems in the expanding Universe, including galaxies, stars, planets, life, society, and machines. A large amount of empirical evidence–relating neither entropy nor information, rather energy–suggests that an underlying simplicity guides the emergence and growth of complexity among many known, highly varied systems in the 14-billion-year-old Universe, from big bang to humankind.

What is Aperiodic Order?

This article provides a brief introductory account of the theory of aperiodic order.

String theory to the rescue

Por • 30 dic, 2015 • Category: Opinion

The search for a theory of quantum gravity faces two great challenges: the incredibly small scales of the Planck length and time, and the possibility that the observed constants of nature are in part the result of random processes. A priori, one might have expected these to be insuperable obstacles. However, clues from observed physics, and the discovery of string theory, raise the hope that the unification of quantum mechanics and general relativity is within reach.

Why WWIII Is On The Horizon – Paul Craig Roberts

To avoid war, Putin is non-provocative and low-key in his responses to Western provocations. Putin’s responsible behavior, however, is misinterpreted by neoconervatives as a sign of weakness and fear. The neoconservatives tell President Obama to keep the pressure on Russia, and Russia will give in. However, Putin has made it clear that Russia will not give in. Putin has sent this message on many occasions. For example, on September 28, 2015, at the 70th anniversary of the United Nations, Putin said that Russia can no longer tolerate the state of affairs in the world. Two days later Putin took command of the war against ISIS in Syria.

Pragmatic Information in Quantum Mechanics

Por • 29 dic, 2015 • Category: Educacion

An objective definition of pragmatic information and the consideration of recent results about information processing in the human brain can help overcome some traditional difficulties with the interpretation of quantum mechanics. Rather than attempting to define information ab initio, I introduce the concept of interaction between material bodies as a primary concept. Two distinct categories can be identified: 1) Interactions which can always be reduced to a superposition of physical interactions (forces) between elementary constituents; 2) Interactions between complex bodies which cannot be reduced to a superposition of interactions between parts, and in which patterns and forms (in space and/or time) play the determining role. Pragmatic information is then defined as the correspondence between a given pattern and the ensuing pattern-specific change.
